Longtime staff and residents give Bellewood a sense of place. They work, play and live in a senior housing community that fosters friendships, and even if it sounds corny, becomes family.
Come and experience the difference.

FRESH
IN EVERY WAY.

In our dining room, Executive Chef Frank Blanchard and his staff create their own menus (with plenty of input from residents) and prepare all meals from scratch, on-site. They use seasonal herbs from our garden to add flavor and flair. And they tailor meals to residents' preferences and individual dietary needs. "Nothing here is dictated by some big corporation," says Frank, who has been with Bellewood for over a decade. "Not our dining service, and not the way we treat our residents."

    WHAT “LIFEMINDED"
    LOOKS LIKE.

After moving to the Northwest from Pittsburg, resident Edith Kish has embraced our LifeMinded approach. She loves our exercise program, takes part in as many outings as possible, and somehow finds time to knit scarves as part of our volunteer program. “I have always believed that life is what you make it,” says Edith. “Living here helps me make the most of every day.”

RAISING A GLASS TO THE GOOD LIFE.

Along with a good glass of wine... All we can say to that is “cheers.”

  •

    WHEN “RETIREMENT" IS RELATIVE.

Arlene Militech has been a familiar face at Bellewood since 2008. A former social worker, her passion for helping the underserved hasn’t cooled. Arlene stays connected with her profession by staying in touch with former colleagues and hosts a monthly book group focused on social justice. An avid reader, she also hosts our Tea Lover’s Talk book group.

THERE'S ACTIVE, AND THEN THERE'S PEGGY

Peggy McDougall has made her home at Bellewood since 1995. She has many interests, but she says heading several of our programs tops her list. Peggy leads Care a Lot, which sends birthday and "get well" cards to residents. She oversees our annual gift drive for local charity Friends of Youth. Somehow she also finds time to knit the adorable baby sweaters and hats we sell in our gift boutique, with proceeds going to Eastside Baby Corner here in Issaquah.

MEET THEM YOURSELF.
